Ashwagandha, also known as ‘winter cherry’ is a wonderful herb used in ayurvedic system of medicine for a number of health-related conditions. Some of the important chemicals and alkaloids present in the roots of Ashwagandha are anaferine, anahygrine, beta-sisterol, cuscohygrine, pseudotropine, somniferinine, somniferiene, tropanol, withanine and withananine.
